4. The transfer registration system will only be open for one week and will shut at 19:00 hrs on Monday 3rd December.
Please note that the decision has been taken this year that as this is a charity event there will be NO refunds if you are unable to run.
Also this year there isn’t a WAITING LIST, Please do NOT ask, if you do ask about a waiting list your email/comment won’t be answered.
There will be a transfer window of one week, 24th November – 3rd December 2018.
NO Transfers will be taken before or after these dates, if you do ask about transfers before/after these dates your email/comments won’t be answered.
If you transfer your number the person you are transfering to will still need to pay the entry fee and you won’t be refunded.
All this is to help make it easier for the registration team. Previous years have been major headaches answering questions about entries, transfers, waiting list etc.
Many thanks for you support and understanding. Be quick as this race has sold out the last 4 years, last year in 2 1/2 days.
BOWSTONES 2018 ENTRIES WILL OPEN MID OCTOBER
RACE START is on the bridge across the canal, Lyme Rd, just up the road from Nelson Pit car park, Higher Poynton, SK12 1TH
****Race starts at 10 am****
The Bowstones are a pair of ancient Anglian cross shafts situated beside the old ridgeway between Disley and Macclesfield overlooking the gorgeous Lyme Park, with extensive views across the Cheshire Plain, to the city of Manchester and the hills of the Peak District.
The run starts from the Boards Head Pub in Higher Poynton and winds its way uphill, crossing the Macclesfield Canal, into Lyme Park, joining the Gritstone Trail up to the Bowstones themselves, before passing Lyme Hall and the deer sanctuaries near Lyme Cage, eventually winding back down to Higher Poynton.
It’s a tough challenge, but the views (and the free bottle of beer to all finishers) make it more than worthwhile.
